From Flat Images to Layers

Illustrative layer breakdowns. Actual conversion results vary by image.
How to Convert an Image to PSD
Upload an image, review the generated layers, and download a Photoshop file for the next edit.
1. Upload a JPG or PNG
Choose a screenshot, slide image, or design reference. Clear, high-resolution images produce better text detection.
2. CopySlides Builds the Layers
The pipeline detects text, removes only accepted text regions, separates the remaining visual content, and writes the PSD.
3. Preview and Download
Inspect the composite, toggle individual layers, edit supported text in Photoshop, and download PSD, ZIP, or PNG layers.
What You Get in the PSD
The output is designed for inspection and practical follow-up edits while keeping uncertain content visible.
Editable Photoshop Text
Reliable horizontal OCR lines become native text layers with approximate position, size, and sampled color.
Layered Pixel Artwork
Visual elements are delivered as transparent pixel layers that you can hide, move, or export individually.
Live Layer Preview
Compare the original image with the generated composite and inspect one layer at a time before downloading.
Conversion Warnings
Low-confidence and unsupported text is preserved in the artwork and reported in the layer manifest.
PSD and ZIP Export
Download the Photoshop document together with the preview, manifest, and source layers for review.
Useful for Design References
Start from screenshots, slide images, moodboards, and flattened graphics when the original PSD is unavailable.
Simple, Transparent Pricing
Use the same CopySlides credits as other image conversions.

Image to PSD Questions
What to expect when turning a flat image into a layered Photoshop document.
Will every object become a separate PSD layer?
LayerD separates visual content into pixel layers, but it does not guarantee one layer per semantic object. The workspace lets you inspect the actual output before downloading.
Will the text be editable in Photoshop?
Text that passes the confidence, orientation, and layout checks is written as a native Photoshop text layer. Complex, rotated, or uncertain text remains in the pixel artwork with a warning.
Can I edit the PSD in Photoshop?
Yes. Install the suggested Noto Sans CJK SC font for the closest first render. Fonts are referenced by the PSD and are not embedded in the file.
What image formats are supported?
The first version accepts PNG and JPEG images up to 20 MB and 16 million decoded pixels. Transparent PNGs are composited onto white before processing.
What happens to text that cannot be reconstructed?
It is kept in the pixel artwork instead of being erased. The manifest and workspace warnings identify preserved text when the detector can report it.
How many credits does one conversion use?
One successful image-to-PSD conversion uses one CopySlides credit. Credits are checked before processing and deducted only after the task succeeds.
